Eating: Micah is doing well on his solid foods now, it was a struggle for a while but now he eats like a champ. He is still nursing 4 times per day (well, just this week I've started to try and back it down to 3 times/day). He is also eating 3 meals per day. He eats bananas, apples, pears, peaches, squash, green beans, peas, carrots, oatmeal, and more. I just tried yogurt tonight which didn't go great and lentils are coming soon. He has also started drinking from a sippy cup, it is very cute. He actually really likes to drink from a real cup, he just makes a mess though
.
Sleeping: Micah goes to bed between 7 and 7:30 and usually sleeps till 6ish. He was on a 5 am kick for a couple of weeks which I think (and hope) has passed. That was pretty rough. He will nurse when he wakes up and sometimes he'll go back to sleep for another hour or so. Usually when he gets up he and Corey play before Corey has to go to work (which is awesome for me too b/c that means I get a few extra minutes of sleep). I am also working on getting him from 3 naps down to 2. This works better when he gets up a little later as he just gets so tired and when he is tired he is incredibly fussy. Today he did pretty well though and his second nap was about 2 hrs and 20 min which was nice.
Teething: Micah now has 4 teeth (2 upper and 2 lower). At this moment in time his teeth don't seem to be bothering him as much which is great...though he still chews on anything he can get his mouth on. I'm sure more teeth are coming soon.
Things Micah likes: Some of Micah's favorite "toys" include cell phones, remote controls, computers, etc. It is so funny...he even knows my phone ring tone b/c when it rings he always looks up to find the phone. He thinks it is so fun to talk to Corey on the phone. When Corey calls I put him on speaker and Micah gets a huge smile. However, when I take the phone away so I can actually have a conversation he is not very happy about this (the other day this led to Micah throwing a huge fit with screaming and arching his back and all). He also loves strings (like the drawstring on a hooded sweatshirt) and zippers. It is so cute to see his little fingers work! Micah of course has some real toys that he likes as well. He loves to jump in his exersaucer, he really goes to town in that thing! Micah also loves to be tickled, loves to be outside, loves to play with daddy, loves to scream when he is happy/excited, loves attention, loves to talk, loves to pound/bang on things, loves his bath, and loves to look at himself in the mirror.
Sitting/Crawling: Micah sits great on his own. He is such a big boy and even sits in shopping cart when we are grocery shopping. No crawling yet, though I am sure that is coming soon. He gets on his hands and knees and rocks back and forth but then gets really frustrated when he can't get anywhere. There is part of me that will be glad once he can crawl b/c he won't get so frustrated but then part of me that knows my life will become more difficult once he can crawl. He is already into everything and he isn't even mobile yet so I can only imagine!
