McQueen did it!!!

Me: Hey Micah what is all over the couch?
Micah:  I don't know, McQueen did it!

BCYF 2012

We just got back from the Berrien County Youth Fair--kids are actually napping (they fell asleep on the car ride home) right now.  Not too much to say about it as the pictures pretty well say it all.  Micah LOVED the tractors of course and he actually enjoyed the animals more than I thought he would.  He liked to pet them and would say to them "Hi little buddy" or "Hi big guy" depending whether it was a big or small animal.  We let him ride one ride...he wasn't really big enough for many.  Maybe next year he can get a bracelet to ride them all.  Adelyn must have enjoyed the fair too b/c she did awesome!  She rode in her stroller the whole time and was great!!!  Oh yeah...and what would a fair be without corn dogs, cheese fries, and elephant ears!  YMMMMM!!!!!!!  Until next year....

Daddy is HOME!!!!!

I'm not sure who is more excited....the kids to have their dad home, Corey to be home or me to have him home!!!  Corey spent the past 12 days in Romania leading a mission trip with a group from church.  They had a great trip as they went to visit our sister church and put on a family camp (marriage seminar for adults, teen bible study, and VBS for the kids).  It was a long 12 days...though we managed to stay VERY busy and did lots of fun things.  I am SO thankful that we were able to spend lots of time with our family as well.  Micah was a handful (read VERY naughty/disobedient/whiny/disrespectful...ok you get the point) while Corey was gone.  I think maybe it was/is a combination of his age, us being too busy and him not getting enough sleep, and maybe even some to do with his daddy being away.  I sure hope his behavior/attitude changes for the better now that Corey is back b/c I am exhausted from dealing with him!!!  The only part of Corey being away that I actually enjoyed was not cooking.  I literally did not cook one meal the entire time he was gone (we ate dinner at my dads, my grandparents, twice at my moms, at my sisters, 4+ times at Corey's parents, and when we were home we left overs and I think one time I got motivated and even made us omlets!).  Like I said I am very blessed with such awesome family and friends!  Corey's dad even mowed our lawn (and I even had someone from church offer to come over to mow too--how kind!).

Here is a look at what we did the past 12 days:

We did lots of playing....

Reagan came over and stayed the night with us.  Micah had a blast as she played 24-7 with him and even had a slumber party in his bed.  I am so thankful for little sisters who are such awesome aunts!!!

We went to Papa and Nani's house and Micah got to "drive" a convertible, go for a go-kart ride, and even sit on the neighbor's motorcycle.  He was one happy boy!!!!

We went up to my mom and Jeff's (at Gull Lake) for 2 nights as well.  I forgot to get many pics but Micah had fun on the kayaks and the jetski/boat (he has no fear he loves riding the jetski really fast).  Shelby also came up with the kids for the day so we went to the splashpad and played. Jori took Micah swimming a lot and he is actually doing really well this summer with swimming and jumping off the dock. He had fun.

We made a trip to GR to visit Shelby and her family for two days.  We had fun plans for outside activities but it rained the entire time we were there.  We still had a great time though and the cousins had fun playing together (Micah loved playing hide and seek) and we went to the kids museum as well.  Shelby and I were even able to get out for ice cream one night after the kiddos were all in bed--Thanks Ty!

We also spent time with Corey's parents.  Corey's sister, Jessica, and her fiance Matt were in town for a garage sale so we were able to hang out with them some too.  They are also great with the kids and Micah loves to play with them. We went downtown with Corey's parents and of course hit up the carousel and the "Go State" horse.

And while daddy was gone Adelyn mastered sitting own her own, crawling (she was doing a combo of scooting and crawling before) and even pulling herself up.  She is on the go now which is good and bad.  Good b/c she is happier on the ground (ok well for like 5 minutes) and bad well b/c now she is into stuff and can crawl to me and hangs on my ankles!

Looks so sweet and innocent right? Well, don't let his good looks fool you!  He is something else!  Haha

Micah with his new haircut and new pjs (thx Grandma and Grandpa!)

And that pretty well sums up our last 12 days.  We survived (barely at times) but am thankful now to have Corey back.  Micah and daddy have been getting lots of wrestling in--making up for lost time!  Corey even brought home some gifts--think Micah liked his treat?  Well he ate it for breakfast!  It was a "McQueen" sucker--guess you can't even go to Romania w/o finding Mater and McQueen!  And Corey was so excited to hold Adelyn and thought she seemed so big! We sure missed him--welcome back Daddy!!!!!  (Oh yeah...and don't plan on going anywhere again anytime soon!!!)
