Fall Happenings (thus far)...

I am pretty sure I was just tying a post about our summer happenings and now it is almost november...crazy!  Anways....here's a picture of what we have been up to lately.

Curious Kids Museum--we will be spending lots of time here this winter, thankfully the kids never get sick of it.

Harvest Fest downtown--it was a freezing cold and very windy day so we basically just did the petting zoo.

Corey had a conference in Wheaton, IL so we all ventured down and stayed with some friends.  We had a great trip and the kids had fun at the little "zoo" they had there.

Just some cute pics before church.

Haha!
 Naked baby!!

Bathtime (though I will say this doesn't happen as often as I'm sure it should)
The kids having fun (well that is until Adelyn ends up hurt) playing together.  She loves to walk behind Micah while he drives his firetruck.

 Raking the leaves.

Trunk or Treat at a Woodland Shores Church in Bridgman--Micah loved the firetruck, tractor, and  bounce house.  He didn't have the patience to wait in line for candy and said he wanted a pony ride but then changed  his mind.

My little chef!

Opinions

Who knew that a 2 1/2 year old could have such opinions!  Micah has opinions about lots of things and has no problem letting you know it. There are a few that just crack me up though.  First, he has an opinion about my driving!  "Slow down mom, you are driving too fast" or "Mom don't drive in the grass, stay on the road" or when we are leaving (granted this is probably bc we are usually running late) "Hurry mom we've gotta go".  The next is a new one but he has an opinion about my hair....yes, my hair.  The other morning and again this morning my hair was in a messy bun type thing from the night and he said "Mom I don't like you hair like that"!!!  Then after my hair was done and I was wearing it down he said "I like your hair like that Mom".  Oh child....!!!!!!!!!!

Adelyn at 9 months

(I've been trying for the last few weeks to get a good 9 month picture of Adelyn with a sign saying 9 months. It has been basically impossible she either won't sit still for a second or wants to tear/play with the sign....)

Height: 27.95" (60%)
Weight: 17 lb 1 oz (32%)
HC: 17" (40%)

Our sweet little Adelyn just keeps getting sweeter!  She is at a really fun age now.  She is a happy little girl (most of the time) who smiles lots!  She lights up when she sees her big brother (and loves to play with him)  and she does the same when daddy gets home from work.  It is just adorable!  She is starting that phase where she is getting into everything!  She loves to empty shelves or anything else she can get her hands on.  She is eating basically everything we eat, however if she doesn't like something she will just stick her tongue out let all the food fall out of her mouth..  Some of her favorite foods are green beans, peas, grapes, blueberries, scrambled eggs, cheese and of course she loves crackers and any other type of carb I give her.  She and continues to wake up once a night (though she eats and goes right back down) and takes 2 (or 3) naps/day.  Even though she loves to be on the move she also loves to be held.  I can't tell you the number of times per day she crawls over to me and pulls herself up and hangs on my legs until I pick her up.  She is a squirmy little thing and hates to lay still to get her diaper changed.  She also still hates to ride in her carseat and isn't a big fan of the stroller most days either (though she does like to ride in the wagon with Micah).  Its fun to see her personality develop and watch her grow!

Micah at 2 1/2

Ohhh Micah! This post will mostly be for us....to remember the everyday things we love so much about our Micah Man so feel free to skim if you don't need/want all the details!

Micah is one little kid with one BIG imagination. I'm not sure if most 2 1/2 yr olds have such big imaginations but he sure does. He can take everyday ojects and turn them into anything. For example...we were marking garage sale clothes and he found 2 ties of Corey's. Ever since the blue tie has become his motorcycle and the red one his moped. He puts his pretend helmet and pretend safety glasses on and will ride around the house. He will often ask us (or whoever is over) to ride along with him He pretends or living room is Meijer--complete with the fish tanks (ie our fireplce) where he feeds the fish and Sandy--the meijer horse--(ie the arm of our couch) that he rides and even th conveyor belt (ie bay window) where he check out. He loves playing restuarant--he has a few consistant restaurants named Gonks, Coins, and Tikis. He'll ask us what we want and then cook it up for us. Lately he has turned his golf bag into a hot dog cart--just like the ones downtown St Joe. Like I said he has a great imagination.

Micas is currently obsessed with a plastic pretend donut. Actually he is (permanently) borrowing it from his cousin Linoln but he carries it with him at all times. I don't know how many times I hear "where is my donut". I finally stopped letting him sleep with it b/c he was waking up during the night b/c he would drop it and couldnt find it. Don't worry though we tuck donut into it bed every night and cover it with a blanket and the first thing he does when he wakes up is get his donut. He has currently been sleeping with an empty coffee creamer bottle. He also really likes this...it is cinnamon flavored and there is still a cinnamom smell left. Haha....

Micah of course still loves his car/trucks/motorcycles, etc. He also loves to pretend that he is a firefighter (and wears his firehat, rides around his fire truck and uses his hose to put out fires) and a construction worker.

Along with his huge imagination Micah also has a great memory. It amazes me what he remembers. For example we were at the park and he was playing with several news kids we didn't know. After we left he knew what color shirt each boy had on and wanted to know their name I've also already told you about how he knows his cars. For example we will be driving 70 mph on the highway and a car will drive by and he will say mom that is Jake's (a friend) car. Now I have no idea what type of car they drive but Micah is not usually wrong when it comes to cars. Since we know that this is such a great age to memorize we (well mainly corey is) working with him on memorizing Bible verses. He can probably say 10 verses! What an awesome foundation to be learning God's truth!

Micah's favorite movie is Cars, favorite hymn is In Christ Alone, favorite breakfast food is waffles, favorite food is hot dogs, favorite color is blue. If he likes something he will say "that is one of my favorites".

Micah loves playing football and tackeling daddy. He got to go to his first football game (Lakeshore) with Corey and he just loved it. He also likes to pretend that he is Gholston--a MSU player. Tonight before bed when I sang to him instead of signing our usual I had to sing night night Gholston! Micah also loves his baby sister-his Addie girl as he calls her-and boy does she love him and just light up when she sees him. He isn't always kind or gentle with her but we are working on teaching him what it means to be a big brother.

He is a sweet boy--but he is 2! Sometimes he can be the most friendly little guy and other times he won't even talk to you! Sometimes he puts his arm around me and tells me "mom you are the best" and other times I tell him to do something and he hits me (which is then followed up by a spanking).

I could go on and on about all the funny things he says and does and how much fun he is, etc but that is a good picture of our little guy at 2 1/2.
